Discover Waller ISD

For nearly 130 years Waller ISD has fostered students, earning a reputation for academic and extracurricular excellence. In 2015, all eight Waller ISD campuses received “Met Standard” ratings, as well as a total of 18 Distinction Designations from the Texas Education Agency. Waller ISD schools compete for — and win — UIL area, regional and state awards in academics, fine arts and athletics. More than $3 million in scholarships and grants were awarded to Waller High School students in 2015 and the 98 percent graduation rate is well above the state average.

Aided by a $71 million bond package that was passed in 2015, Waller ISD is poised to add campuses as the district population expands — including the construction of an on-site elementary school within Dellrose.

Roberts Road Elementary

Roberts Road faculty and staff honor individual learning styles in a positive and nurturing environment. In 2015, students performed well above average on state mandated tests and the school was awarded distinctions in Reading/ELA, Science, Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gaps and Postsecondary Readiness. In addition to a strong academic program, students benefit from instruction in music, physical education and technology applications. A strong PTO and active volunteer program contribute to the school’s success.

HIGHLIGHTS

Waller Junior High School

With a strong focus on academics, as well as a wide range of electives and extracurricular activities, Waller Bulldogs have many opportunities to shine. Teachers work collaboratively in departments and grade level teams to create and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons, preparing students for the transition to Waller High School. Electives include choices in fine arts, foreign language, business, vocational, wellness, physical education and athletics. High school credit classes are also offered. Technology is integrated into all subject areas, and three computer labs facilitate technology literacy for all students.

HIGHLIGHTS

– Waller Junior High Academic Pentathlon placed third in district competition in 2016.

– In 2015, the eighth-grade Lady Bulldogs basketball team had an undefeated season, winning the district championship.

– Seventh-grade boys were named 2015 Cross Country District Champions.

Waller High School

Waller High School is a winning combination of academics, electives and extracurricular activities. A range of Advanced Placement and dual credit classes are offered, and students achieve higher than average SAT and ACT scores. Waller Bulldogs excel in athletics and the arts, winning medals at UIL competitions and district championships. The wide range of athletics offered includes football, baseball, basketball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, track, golf and Special Olympics. The diverse student population performs well on standardized tests, and the graduation rate is 98 percent.

HIGHLIGHTS

– The class of 2016 was awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and grants.

– The Indoor Percussion Ensemble was named the 2016 Texas Color Guard Circuit Silver Medalist.

– The girls’ track team were area champions in 2016.

– The Waller High School AFJROTC Orienteering Team clenched U.S. Interscholastic Orienteering championship title in 2016
